BGP Global Services recently conducted a further crisis management table top exercise for the senior UK management and crisis management team of the Marsh and McLennan Companies in London.
The training utilised their immersive training platform LIMIT and led the participants through a series of interactive situations, focussing on their response to a corporate manslaughter incident. This exercise tested company policies and resilience, as well as identifying areas of strength and others where there was the potential for improvement.
At BGP, they found that this method of training provides valuable lessons for the benefit of both the company and those attending. It is made all the more effective by the use of real time scenarios, enabling those involved to experience the management of a crisis in both a practical and realistic manner.
MMC Senior Vice President and Director of Security EMEA, Dan Mead said, “as the number of unexpected crises rise, staff at MMC practice responding to, and managing these situations professionally, thereby maintaining the high standards of the company. The training provided by BGP enables real world situations to be addressed, enabling lessons to be learned for the future”.
Also participating in the exercise was Andrew Marshall from Edmonds Marshall McMahon, who provided a legal perspective to many of the issues considered. In 2012, Andrew was appointed to the Regulatory List of Advocates for the Health and Safety Executive. In this capacity, he was able to bring his expertise, and knowledge of the subject matter, adding a further dimension to the training scenario.
