Kate McMahon will be speaking at the 18th Annual IBA Anti-Corruption conference taking place in Paris on 14-15 June 2022 This leading conference will discuss what has happened in the past two years on the global anti-corruption stage. The OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann will provide a keynote address.
Kate McMahon will be chairing the panel discussion ‘Are corporations the new anti-corruption police?’ This will be a topical discussion on where nation states have been slow to interfere in the Russia-Ukraine crisis, corporates have not. Have we created a global culture whereby the legislative requirement to act, prevent and publicly sanction has translated into global policing?
IBA – International Bar Association
Established in 1947, shortly after the creation of the United Nations, the IBA was born out of the conviction that an organisation made up of the world’s bar associations could contribute to global stability and peace through the administration of justice. The present membership is comprised of more than 80,000 individual international lawyers from most of the world’s leading law firms and some 190 bar associations and law societies spanning more than 170 countries.
