Joanne Lee is an Associate specialising in complex fraud, asset recovery and private prosecutions. Joanne draws on her extensive advocacy experience and grounding in financial markets and commercial disputes to achieve astute and effective outcomes for corporates, financial institutions, and high-net-worth individuals.
Joanne began her career in New Zealand as a financial analyst at a Big 4 accounting firm, where she advised private and listed entities on traditional and distressed M&A. She spent six years at Meredith Connell, a specialist litigation firm and office of the Auckland Crown prosecution warrant.
Joanne ran a multi-disciplinary practice, advising clients on civil fraud and commercial disputes and as a trial advocate, representing the Crown on criminal appeals and jury trials, primarily as lead counsel, on all serious offences including homicide, organised crime, sexual violence and fraud. Prior to joining EMM, Joanne was an Associate at Kingsley Napley, within their criminal litigation practice.
